What is Mental Illness?

What is Normal?

According to Wikipedia, normal is described as “when someone’s behavior conforms to the most common behavior in society”.

What is Mental Illness?

The stigma of mental illness in America has coined terms such as “crazy”, “losing your marbles” and “the looney bin” to separate those diagnosed with mental illness as “them” being much different from “me”. People with diagnosed mental illness look very much the same as you and I. Many successful celebrities have been treated for mental illness and appear “normal” to society. The majority of mental illness is described as a chemical imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain.
